WHY USE RE-CYCLED?
Every day in Britain over 100,000 worn tyres are taken off cars, vans and trucks. This totals about 40 million tyres (440,000 tonnes) per year. About 70% of these tyres are diverted from landfill. The rest approx 28% (123,000 tonnes) have previously been sent to landfill or stockpiled and represent a major waste problem.
The disposal of rubber tyres became a major concern when a new Government directive in June 2006 came into force banning all rubber waste from landfill.
As incineration is undesirable, an alternative method for re-using scrap tyres must be found. Legislation in the form of the EU Landfill Directive give added momentum to effective tyre recycling and this project endeavours to do this.
Help to reduce the tyre mountain by using Rubbercrete Plaster/Screed product instead of conventional materials.
Be kind to our environment.
